Derek qualified as a solicitor in 1981 and joined Wheelers in 2018, having recently retired as an employment judge – a position he had held for over 20 years.
Derek became a full time employment judge in 1994, having spent the previous 9 years employed by various Blue Chip companies. In those roles although he mainly undertook commercial litigation he appeared in employment tribunals in all areas of England, as well as Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Derek’s work as an employment judge gives him a valuable insight into the workings of the tribunal system. His advice can enable clients to gain crucial advantages in the way their cases are prepared and presented.
In his spare time Derek plays piano in a jazz band. He also plays the odd game of golf and tennis. The older he gets, the better he was…
