How we can help:
Wills - The future wellbeing of your family may depend on you having prepared an effective and legally binding Will. If you do not make a Will your property and other assets may not pass to the persons you would have wished to benefit from them. Using our specialist knowledge of property, trusts, and tax law, we can help you cater for a number of different possibilities.
Tax and Estate planning - Tax law is complex and forever changing. We can advise you on the best way to plan ahead and to arrange you tax affairs during your lifetime to minimise the eventual Inheritance Tax payable.
Trusts - We can advise you on setting up all types of trusts whether to safeguard assets or protect vulnerable beneficiaries as well as the benefits and implications of doing so. If you are a Trustee we can also advise you of your duties and obligations as a Trustee and assist you with the administration of the trust.
If you have been appointed under a Will as an Executor you may feel overwhelmed by the amount of work involved in dealing with an estate. We can deal with the application for the Grant of Probate and if required the ensuing administration of the estate.
We are normally able to provide you at the outset with a firm no obligation estimate as to the cost involved.
Help for Personal Representatives - Personal representatives are the people named in a Will to act as the executors, or the next of kin of someone who has left no Will. Being a personal representative has heavy responsibilities and can be legally difficult.
Have you considered who would manage your affairs if you became mentally incapable of handling your own affairs?
If a relative has not executed a Lasting Power of Attorney before becoming mentally incapacitated, we can assist you with an application to the Court of Protection to be appointed as a Deputy to manage their financial affairs.
Phyllis Tuckwell Make a Will Fortnight
A number of years ago we lost a hugely respected and cherished Partner to cancer. The Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice provided invaluable support and assistance to her and her family at the end of her life. Since then we have been proud to support the Hospice and participate in a number of fundraising initiatives to help generate the much needed funds they require to continue their excellent work.
One of the key initiatives in which we have participated for each of the past few years is the Phyllis Tuckwell Make a Will Fortnight. This has enabled us to generate donations of several thousand pounds to the Hospice each year. Last year (2018) we raised over £5000 by donating our time for free in preparing Wills for clients in return for their donating the fee which they would otherwise have paid to us direct to the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice.
Contact Jonathan Jacobs, Tsyrina Tan, Karin Cox-Putker or Jessica Williams for further information, or to arrange a meeting. In all cases we will give you an indication of the level of costs likely to be involved and details of relevant charging rates.
