Susan Reyersbach

Partner/Member (Head of Department)

Susan Reyersbach, partner, is our matrimonial and family specialist, as well as heading the personal injury department. She joined us in 1989, having qualified as a solicitor in 1982 with a City firm and having worked for a number of local firms.

Susan has developed expertise in the areas in which she practices, undertaking work on a private basis. Her work encompasses divorce and separation and she advises on all financial aspects concerning separating couples, including the complex area of pension sharing and pension attachment. Susan also advises on issues involving children, including disputes over residence, contact and financial matters involving children. In cases involving harassment or domestic violence, Susan can provide assistance in pursuing the best remedy, thriough the court if necessary.

She also advises couples who are not married but who are cohabiting or intend to do so, and can provide assistance to those considering entering into a civil partnership. She assists in avoiding the financial pitfalls that can be encountered when entering into relationships or when they break down.

Susan is a member of Resolution and the Law Society's Family Law panel. In line with the approach encouraged by the courts, she advocates settlement without recourse to the judicial process where possible. Susan is also a qualified Family Mediator, and carries out mediation for those who require this service.

In the personal injury sphere, Susan has acted mainly for claimants to recover compensation following road traffic accidents, accidents at work and slipping and tripping cases. She is a member of the Law Society's Personal Injury panel and undertakes work on a no-win, no-fee basis.

Sue is keen on fitness and enjoys going to the gym as often as possible and, in 2004, she walked the overnight 'Moonwalk' marathon in aid of Breast cancer - wearing her bra (and other accoutrements, we assume!). Sue loves to travel and speaks German and good French.
