Commercial Disputes

We have acted, and continue to act, for a wide variety of individuals and businesses dealing with their disputes, both outside and within the Court system. At Wheelers LLP we aim to take a refreshingly pragmatic approach to all litigation by working closely with each of our clients and endeavour to identify a practical and cost effective solution to each case.

How we can help

Court litigation can be time consuming, costly and stressful. However, where litigation is your best option, our prime objective is to ensure that your case is presented to your opponent and the Court in the most persuasive manner possible.

We will identify whether your case has a realistic prospect of succeeding and formulate a strategy with you. Having done so, we will advise carefully on the methods of funding your case and assess so far as we can, the approximate cost to you. Even when Court proceedings have started, mediation and negotiation are encouraged and built into the Court process so that most cases are resolved without reaching trial, saving time and costs. Where appropriate, therefore, we will seek to obtain a resolution of your dispute through alternative dispute resolution methods, which include mediation, arbitration and adjudication.

Every case evolves in its own unique manner; your case will be subjected to a continuing assessment of risk management and cost analysis particularly at the point when we see your opponent’s evidence. We ensure that at every stage in the litigation process, you are kept fully in the picture.

We recognise the importance of ensuring legal costs remain in proportion with the sum claimed. Emphasis is placed on preventing delay and ensuring that your case gets to trial as soon as possible. There are various penalties that the Court can now impose against a slow and dilatory opponent.

We have extensive advocacy experience at all levels. We have also developed an excellent professional relationship with Barristers, ensuring that you always have access to the best possible and most appropriate professional legal advice.

Testimonial

Wheelers LLP acted on our behalf in a commercial dispute with a large multinational corporation. As a result of clear, forceful and pursuasive arguments which they advanced on our behalf, we received virtually all of the substantial damages claimed at the outset without even having to commence formal court action. Wheelers LLP were easily a match for the expensive London lawyers appointed to act for the multinational and succeeded in communicating their legal expertise to me in a jargon-free and commercial manner. I will certainly continue to use Wheelers in the future
